Apparently crazy eyes, sweating, and screaming in the face of indescribable pain turns some people on, because more and more couples are getting caught doing the deed in the delivery room. Labor and delivery nurse Chaunie Brusie writes on Mommyish that she and her colleagues have discovered couples enjoying themselves — and each other — in the delivery room, in the triage room separated by just a thin privacy curtain, and in the hospital room shower just 30 minutes after baby’s arrival. Of course, we know that getting busy in public has its thrills (or so we’ve heard), and we’ve seenYouTube videos of women experiencing orgasms during pregnancy, but judging by the comments below Chaunie’s blog, the majority of us prefer a significant amount of personal space during the labor and delivery process — not to mention steering clear of the “disaster zone,” as one woman’s doctor put it, afterward delivery.
“I cannot even BEGIN to imagine what my reaction would have been if [my husband] suggested we have sex in the delivery room,” says a commenter named whiteroses. “I imagine that I'd be divorced now.” “Divorced?” replies StephKay. “I'd be widowed if my partner suggested sex in the [maternity] ward.” What do you think about couples having sex during labor and after childbirth?
