Glee Earns GLAAD Media Award Nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series
While Glee was overlooked at this year’s Golden Globes, the show has a few nominations to celebrate this week.
The GLAAD Media Awards nominations were announced on January 16, and Glee is in the running for Outstanding Comedy Series. Way to go, Glee!
Ryan Murphy is probably in an extra cheery mood today, because his NBC sitcom The New Normal was also nominated in the same category. And his FX horror-drama, American Horror Story: Asylum, picked up a nomination for Outstanding TV Movie or Miniseries. This guy can do no wrong.
Also nominated in the Comedy category with Glee are Modern Family, Go On, and Happy Endings. Modern Family took home the prize last year.
Another nominee with ties to Glee is the band Scissor Sisters, which was nominated for Outstanding Music Artist for their album Magic Hour. The album features the song “Let’s Have a Kiki,” which Glee covered in fabulous fashion a couple months back on Season 4, Episode 8: “Thanksgiving.”
The winners will be announced over the course of three separate ceremonies taking place between March and May of 2013. Here’s hoping Glee can emerge victorious this time around!
