Will Val Chmerkovskiy Be on General Hospital Again?
More shirtless Val Chmerkovskiy on television? As much as we’d love to see him shirtless and samba-ing on our TV screens again, it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen anytime soon. "Val loves General Hospital and had an amazing experience on the show, he would love to go back at some point," an insider tells Wetpaint Entertainment. "But, unfortunately, it's not going to be anytime soon. Dancing With the Stars starts up again in a month and that's his focus and his main priority. But once his schedule frees up, I'm sure he'd love to make a return appearance."
The Dancing With the Stars pro appeared on the long-running soap on December 10, playing a (shirtless) boxer who had a scene with Emmy winner Nancy Lee Grahn, who plays the on-screen mom of Kelly Monaco’s character. As we all know, Kelly and Val danced together on Season 15All-Stars and took third place — but first in our showmance-loving hearts.
But don’t fret General Hospital fans: the younger Chmerkovskiy bro is allowed back on-set when his schedule clears up.
“We would love to bring Val back," GH Executive Producer Frank Valentini told Access Hollywood (via The Clicker). “It’s a little trickier because of scheduling, but if we can bring back Val, you may see him do a little dance with Kelly Monaco.” Woo hoo!
But even beyond that, the GH exec said they'd be open to having Val return as an occasional guest star. “Totally," Valentini said. "He’s got charisma to spare." Agreed!
As much as we’d love to see Val build an acting career out of his GH guest appearances, we need his first priority to be DWTS Season 16, which starts March 18.
