Jennifer Hudson on American Idol 2013: The Show Should “Go Out On Top”
If anyone knows intimately the springboard American Idol can be for your career, it’s Jennifer Hudson. After going out in 7th place on season 3 of the ratings juggernaut, the singer has gone on to win an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, a Grammy Award, and many other impressive accolades.
The starlet, who has recently become as well known for her impressive weight loss as her burgeoning career, reportedly thinks it’s time for the American Idol Machine to shut down.
“Everything has its time,” Jennifer Hudson told Celebuzz at a press event for her upcoming film, The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete. “I think it should just allow itself to go out on top... and gracefully.”
Some might say she’s bitter, as she certainly took a lot of criticism from the harshest judge of all time, Simon Cowell, during her stint on Idol. But she had plenty of positive things to say aboutthe show as well.
“American Idol changed the face of television. So, not everyone can say that. And, it’s always been a phenomenon. I’m proud to have come from American Idol, so I just say, go out on top.”
Do you agree with J-Hud? Should Idol quit while it’s still (slightly) ahead?
