Castle Spoiler: Someone Close to Beckett Returns in Season 5, Episode 13, “Recoil”
We already know that Senator William H. Bracken, aka the mastermind behind Johanna Beckett's murder, is returning to Castle on Feb. 4. But Season 5, Episode 13: "Recoil" brings the return of another blast from the past — Kate Beckett's trusted and esteemed therapist, Dr. Burke.
According to a press release from ABC, Star Trek vet Michael Dorn will be reprising his role as the detective's doc, but we don't know much about his purpose. Now that Castle and Beckett are coupled up and in love, what could she possibly need a shrink for? Something tells us it may have something to do a certain slimeball senator …
"While investigating the murder of a young woman, Castle and Beckett find evidence that links her death with Senator William H. Bracken," reads the official episode synopsis. "Determined to finally bring Bracken to justice, Beckett soon realizes that things are far more complicated than they seem."
The promo sheds even more light on the case, teasing that Beckett is ready to kill the corrupt congressman, but her duty is to protect him. How's that for irony?!
Let's hope Dr. Burke can help steer Beckett in the right direction as she faces the "biggest decision of her life." Needless to say, her career depends on it.
