Glee

One of Darren Criss’s College Friends Is Coming to Glee!

If you’re a Darren Criss (Blaine) fan, or if the words A Very Potter Musical mean anything to you, listen up: We’re about to share the best new you’ve heard all day.

Then again, if you really are a diehard AVPM fan, you’ve probably known about this for a while.

Back during his college days with Team StarKid at The University of Michigan, Darren skyrocketed to fame on YouTube for his role as Harry in the 2009 viral hit AVPM, and it’s 2010 follow-up A Very Potter Sequel. (Plus, not only did Darren star in both musicals, he also wrote most of the songs for both shows. Overachiever.)

Now, one of Darren’s co-stars is confirming that he’s headed to Glee for this week’s episode.

On January 22, StarKid fan favorite Joey Richter tweeted, “E'eryone! Remember that this Thursday the 24th, you can catch me in the "Sadie Hawkins" ep of @GleeonFox! Don't blink or you may miss me!”

You read that right. Joey Richter — aka the Ron Weasley to Darren’s Harry Potter — will be making a brief appearance in Season 4, Episode 11: “Sadie Hawkins.”

Sadly, it doesn’t look like we can expect any of the adorable Darren/Joey bromance on screen. Popwrapped reports that Joey’s character will be in New York City, not Ohio. He’ll be appearing as a member of NYADA’s glee club, The Adam’s Apples.

So yes. This means you will probably see him during that scandalous performance of Sir Mix-a-lot’s “Baby Got Back.” Somebody pass the Red Vines. It sounds like we’re in for quite a show!
