Kandi Burruss Defends Decision to Have Riley Meet Todd Early in Their Relationship, Calls Out Wendy Williams For Her Criticism
As we’ve seen on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kandi Burruss’ 11-year-old daughter, Riley, wasn’t always Todd Tucker’s biggest fan, even noting on the show that he was dating her mom for a very short time before he started coming around the house.
However, in her latest BravoTV.com blog Kandi clears up Riley’s misconceptions. She explains, “Todd didn’t move in until we moved to the new house, which probably was nine months into our relationship, six months after Riley met him. It is always a big debate as to when the right time is to introduce your child to someone.”
And while Kandi — who has been a single mom pretty much all of Riley’s life — is aware of how difficult raising a child on your own is, she gets annoyed when others with different circumstances comment on her situation.
Specifically, our girl Kandi has a bone to pick with talk show host Wendy Williams. “It kills me when people like Wendy Williams, who had both of her parents in her life and is now raising her child with his father, her husband, dog me out saying what they think about my daughter meeting the man I’m dating,” she says. “I personally feel if you’ve never been a single parent or the child of a single parent household, then don’t pass judgment. You cannot relate to my situation. I have been a single mom, and I was raised in a single parent home.”
You tell her, Kandi. You know what they say about people in glass houses …
And for those of you that may tend to agree that Kandi introduced Riley to Todd too soon, Kandi assures her fans that her little girl always comes first.
“I made a vow from the time she was born that if any man couldn’t love my daughter and treat her with love, then he would get dropped like a bad habit,” she concludes.
