Mid-Season Power Rankings: How Are Each of the Housewives Stacking Up So Far?
Now that we’re well into Season 5 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, it’s time to check in and see how each of the Georgia gals are faring. Here are our mid-season Power Rankings, starting with the H'wife most in need of improvement. Let the countdown begin!
Ranking: 6 (out of 6)
Oh, Kenya Moore. What can we say? She’s one of the new housewives, but she’s certainly made her mark on this season — in all the wrong ways. Whether it’s fighting with Porsha over who knows what, or checking Cynthia on her proper title, the girl is always in someone’s face and on everyone’s nerves. But her most cringeworthy offense, no doubt, is chasing now ex-boyfriend Walter Jackson down the aisle across two continents — a fruitless effort that has left her a hot mess and still single. And the worst part is, she’s still under the delusion that she’s “Gone With The Wind Fabulous”!
Ranking: 5 (out of 6)
Fellow newbie, Porsha Stewart isn’t faring so well either. Not quite as, shall we say, entertaining as her counterpart, Porsha’s limited screen time is basically comprised of her throwdown battles with Kenya or her head scratching comments (265 days a year?!). The only thing that’s really keeping her ahead of Kenya is the fact that she’s managed to snag a dependable and supportive husband and that she got in an on-point dig at Kenya last week, calling her “Solange” after the former Miss U.S.A. claimed to constantly be mistaken for Beyonce. Touche, Porsha!
Ranking: 4 (out of 6)
We can always count on Phaedra Parks to add some colorful commentary from her as yet unwritten Southern Belle survival guidebook, and this season, she’s in rare form. Whether it’s questioning the cleanliness of hot tubs or calling 70 year old strippers “scrumptious,” we’re used to laughing with the original “Donkey Booty” expert, rather than feeling bad for her. But, her apparent trouble with husband, Apollo Nida, made for a sad and extremely awkward storyline. Things seem to be looking up for the couple considering they’re expecting their second child though, so here’s to manufactured drama!
Ranking: 3 (out of 6)
Kandi Burruss, meanwhile, is floating along in couple’s paradise this season and we couldn’t be happier for the former singleton! She and boyfriend, Todd Tucker, are shacking up, and we know (in great detail, unfortunately) the two have a very robust sex life, so all’s good in the Burruss home. Her mother and daughter actually approve of the guy (we do too!), and he’s a welcome respite from the regular housewife drama. Thankfully, a wedding is now in the works!
Ranking: 2 (out of 6)
Cynthia Bailey has undergone a complete transformation from when we first met her. Last season, she was weighed down by her family’s disapproval of her marriage to stoic Peter, and this season, she’s busy having gorgeous Anguillan beachside vow renewals with her adorably affectionate husband. Secure in her marriage and her modeling agency, Cynthia has easily brushed off Kenya’s instigations and always come out on top. Not to mention, she’s got a new gig as the P.T Rose Moscato brand spokesperson!
Ranking: 1 (out of 6)
But no one can touch Ms. NeNe Leakes. With a starring role on a legitimate NBC sitcom, a new man (who just happens to be her old man), and a new granddaughter, the girl is on fire. NeNe is flying high this season, especially now that her series long frenemy, Kim Zolciak, is out of the picture. Sitting on the sidelines with some popcorn like the rest of us, NeNe has managed to basically observe and hilariously comment on all the ridiculous shenanigans that go down every week. Girl is laughing all the way to the bank!
