Grey's Anatomy

Should They Cut the ER on Grey’s Anatomy? You Tell Us!

At the end of Grey's Anatomy Season 9, Episode 12: "Walking on a Dream," Queen of Cuts Dr. Cahill came up with a drastic plan to help fix Seattle Grace-Mercy West: Cut the ER.

At first, this seemed like a totally crazy plan. Cut the Emergency Room? Seattle Grace-Mercy West is a hospital! What kind of hospital doesn't have an ER? Especially on TV. How else are we supposed to get hilarious medical cases involving biker gangs and stripper poles?

But the more we thought about it, the more reasonable it seemed. We believe Dr. Cahill that the ER is a huge money suck, and there are plenty of interesting medical stories that don't involve ER patients.

That said, we still can't imagine Seattle Grace-Mercy West without an ER. But what about you: Do you think closing the ER would be an interesting twist, or a terrible idea?
