Who Should Replace L.A. Reid As a Judge on X Factor?
Tragic news, guys. As most of you know, L.A. Reid has abandoned his X Factor throne and gone back from whence he came — a magical land full of shiny shoes, thick-framed glasses and frolicking bald men. We'll miss L.A. so much, but it's time to move on to greener, more judgemental pastures.
Since we rarely dwell on the loss of our fantasy lovers, we’re all set to start a new round of crushing. We've rounded up three superstar producers to replace The X Factor's sleepiest judge, and your job is to vote on the best of the best!
Yes, his name is all kinds of confusing (what are these mysterious periods? Reminds us of middle school.), but Will.i.am is a legit hip recording artist, songwriter, and producer. He's won seven Grammy Awards and eight American Music Awards, and he's produced artists like Justin Bieber, Britney Spears, Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, and Nicki Minaj. And besides sitting in with Brit to help her out at Judges’ Houses, boyfriend was a coach on The X Factor's biggest competitor, The Voice! Stick that in your purple-streaked weave and smoke it, Christina.
Pharrell is one of the most important producers in the industry, and has worked with virtually all your faves. In case you’re not cool enough to recognize his importance in your radio’s life, he’s worked with greats like Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, Britney Spears, Madonna, The Game and Old Dirty Bastard (to name a few!). Needless to say, this dude knows his way around a hit single.
We know, we know — you've never even heard of this guy. But trust, Max Martin is kinda a big deal. He's responsible for producing P!nk, Britney Spears ("Oops!... I Did It Again"), Kelly Clarkson ("Since U Been Gone") and Katy Perry ("Teenage Dream"). Basically, he sleeps in a bed made out of hundred dollar bills, and he can spot talent a mile away!
