Bachelor Sean Lowe’s Trainer: “The Woman He Picks Will Have to Be…” — Exclusive

Week after week, one of the biggest highlights of The Bachelor Season 17 has been the glorious sheen of Sean Lowe’s bare torso. But did you know the hunky Texas native is just as much about mental and spiritual fitness as well as well as a buff bod?

Wetpaint Entertainment spoke exclusively Sagi Kalev, creator of the Body Beast program, who’s been working with Sean for the past three years. He filled us in on how Sean achieves his killer physique, why the program suits him and the kind of woman Sean’s looking for.

Wetpaint Entertainment: What’s the philosophy behind your practice and when and how did Sean come to you?
Sagi Kalev: My practice is all about inspiring people to become whole. I’m a clinical nutritionist, a master trainer and I teach personal development.

Sean came to me about three years ago right when I started working with Beach Body on the Body Beast program. Sean was looking for success in the fitness world, doing competitions and photo shoots for magazines.

What kind of diet do you encourage him to have?
My motto is this: eat what God made, not what man made — the simplest things you can find. Sean is a very disciplined guy so all I had to do was lay out the program and show him what his body likes and does not like.

Before going on the show, did Sean’s regimen change?
Oh, we definitely stepped it up. Whereas normally I work with him once or twice a week, now we went to about three times or sometimes four. We used all the principles of the Body Beast, but tweaked his nutrition to make sure he was also getting micronutrients and the right supplements. We wanted to make Sean the best version of himself he could be.

Sean is obviously very into fitness, but can anyone follow the Body Beast program?
Yes, anyone can unleash the beast. If you want to be more confident, have more self-esteem and if you’re willing do to whatever it takes, you can do in 90 days what someone else might take a year and a half in the gym.

And what about the woman Sean ends up with — will she have to be very into fitness as well?
That’s not the first thing on the priority list, no. The woman he ends up with is going to have to have — first and foremost — faith and belief. She’ll also have to have a healthy set of core family values and place importance on partnership, loyalty, honesty, and vulnerability. She’s going to have to have the whole package… just like Sean does.

At the end of the day, looking good and feeling good is all about loving yourself. If she can do that, she has a good chance.
