Police Officer Helps Deliver Baby in Freezing Cold on the Side of Road
Here’s one more police officer who can add “able to deliver babies when necessary” to his job description. As we reported last week, a woman gave birth to a healthy baby boy in a New York subway at the first-time hands of a NYPD officer, and now it turns out another baby was delivered in Toronto on Thursday in freezing cold right outside mom’s car. According to the Toronto Sun, Police Sgt. Ryan Snow heard the call over his radio that a woman was in labor and in distress. The 39-year-old officer rushed to the scene and was a little shocked to see mom-to-be Michele Tyndall on ground on the side of the road, with dad-to-be trying to handle the situation alone.
Moments later, after Officer Snow encouraged the mom to push, baby girl Violet arrived — and so did the paramedics, to whisk mom and baby off to the hospital. We have to admit, we feel for this poor lady — giving birth outside is one thing, not having an epidural is quite another. She’s our hero — and so is Sgt. Snow! Source:Toronto Sun
