Kellie Pickler On Her Upcoming Country Album and “Toddlers & Tiaras for Puppies” Charity Event
Sporting her grown-in ‘do after shaving her locks in support of a friend with cancer, Kellie Pickler hosted “Unleashed: Dinner With Your Dog” in Nashville on Saturday night. The adorable fashion show for dogs is a fundraiser, with all of the proceeds going to Nashville’s Humane Association. The season five American Idol alum is known has become as well known for her big heart as her notorious “dumb blond” shtick, and helping animals is “pawsitively” one of her fave causes.
As she told Country Weekly of hosting the event for a second year, “I’m really excited to be back,” going on to say, “Last year, we raised more than $45,000 and all of our dogs were adopted. We want the same kind of results this year.”
The event is all about “canine couture” and, as Kellie said, “This is Toddlers & Tiaras for puppies.”
On top of supporting her canine causes, Kellie recently took to Facebook to give fans an update on her next album:
“To everyone who asked me about new music - > I am working religiously on this new album. It will not be too much longer before I am ready to share the first single with y’all. There is NO other place I wanna be than country radio so I want to make sure this next album is RIGHT, not RUSHED.
But don’t y’all worry...I’m “keepin’ it country”. ;-)”
Is that going to be a song title off the new album? Or perhaps it’s a dig at former bestie Taylor Swift, who seems to be much more pop than country these days.
