Why Did The Voice Change Judges?

As we go on, we remember, all the times we had together. That’s right, Voice fans. Come Season 4 of the hit reality music competition, we’ll lose two of the original coaches and add two newbies to the roster.

Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green are taking a season off to promote their music and side projects. Xtina recently released her new studio album, Lotus, and Cee Lo’s working on new music in addition to his Las Vegas residency and the new semi-autobiographical sitcom he’s working on for NBC.

But Christina and Cee Lo have every intention of returning to The Voice. Cee Lo’s already confirmed that he’ll be back for Season 5 in the fall, and Christina has said numerous times that Season 3 won’t be her last time in the big red chair.

Fortunately, NBC found top-notch replacements for the two superstars this season. Colombian pop star Shakira will be replacing Xtina and R&B artist Usher will be taking Cee Lo’s spot. These newcomers will be joining original coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, who have agreed to stay on at least through this season.

The coaches have already filmed the blind auditions, battle rounds, and knockout rounds, but we still have to wait until March 25 for the next season to air.
