Pretty Little Liars Season 3 Ezra and Aria Spoilers: It’s the “End of Them as We Know Them,” Says Ian Harding

At the end of this week’s episode of Pretty Little Liars (Season 3, Episode 17: “Out of the Frying Pan, Into the Inferno”), Ezra broke up with Aria (Lucy Hale), packed his bags, and headed off to meet his seven-year-old son (for the first time).

But don’t fret, Ezria fans, he won’t be gone for long. But will Ezra and Aria’s relationship ever be the same?

“It isn't the end of Aria and Ezra, but it is the end of them as we know them,” Ian Harding told The Hollywood Reporter. “They're going to have some serious chats.”

As if Ezra and Aria’s relationship wasn’t complicated enough, now the two will also have to deal with the news that Ezra has a son. Is Aria really ready to be a teenaged stepmom?

“It is going to be an obstacle. Now he has to really assess what this means … he doesn't know what he's going to do,” Ian dished. “In some ways, yes he's thinking about his relationship with Aria, but in some ways that's kind of the last thing on his brain … This was like you're a dad, your child is seven and you haven't been in his life for a few years shy of a decade. He's feeling all kinds of feelings.”

Um, we’re feeling all kinds of feelings too, Ian! When Ezra does return, however, you can expect Ezra to fight to make things work with Aria because -- as Ian said -- “he does love her.”

“Maybe you'll see a little bit of overcompensating as a result, like ‘No, no no, we're going to make this work!’ He doesn't throw Aria by the wayside. Aria, Ezra and Maggie are bound to have a moment and Ezra really defends his relationship. He doesn't have any shame.”
