Nathan Fillion’s New Joss Whedon Film to Premiere at 2013 South by Southwest Film Conference!
Head’s up Nathan Fillion fans! The Castleactor has teamed up with the Firefly creator once more for a film that will be featured in this year’s South by Southwest Film Conference and Festival!
The film, Much Ado About Nothing, is Joss’s contemporary retelling of Shakespeare’s classic romantic-comedy. Unfamiliar with the play? Well, it’s about two sets of lovers — Benedick and Beatrice and Claudio and Hero — and their very different ideals of love and marriage. Nathan plays Dogberry, the play's chief of police, comedic relief, and inadvertent hero. We’re not sure if Joss has kept Dogberry’s original goofball antics in his version of the tale, but we know for sure that Nathan is definitely filled with all sorts of funny bones.
Nathan and his fellow castmates wrapped the movie after only 12 days at Joss’s home in Santa Monica. It was done in secret while Joss was in the middle of filming The Avengers. How amazing is that?! The movie features tons of people Joss and Nathan have worked with in the past on The Avengers, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and of course Firefly.
Much Ado About Nothing makes its debut during the SXSW festival which runs March 8-16 in Austin, Texas.
