Oh, Oscar! How we love you. Take a peek at some of our favorite Academy Award-nominated parents we can’t wait to watch on the red carpet… Amy Adams, Best Actress in a Supporting Role, The Master 2-year old Aviana will probably be sleeping by the time her mommy’s category is announced, but since Adams has already been nominated for an Academy Award twice in her career (Junebug and Doubt), she certainly stands a good chance of scoring a little gold guy. Steven Spielberg, Best Directing, Lincoln The two-time Academy Award-winning director (Schindler’s List and Saving Private Ryan) has a brood of seven who will be wondering if his latest nominated film, Lincoln, will earn their dad one more Oscar for directing.
Denzel Washington, Best Actor in a Leading Role, Flight With two supporting actor wins under his belt for Glory and Training Day, Washington’s four children are probably crossing their fingers that their dad takes home the gold for his leading role in Flight. Hugh Jackman, Best Actor in a Leading Role, Les Miserables He can act, dance, and man, can Ava and Oscar’s dad sing! We’re just hoping that the Academy recognizes a triple threat when they see one. Naomi Watts, Best Actress in a Leading Role, The Impossible Alexander and Samuel’s mom Naomi Watts is a red carpet vet, and on Oscar night, she’ll be going for a win for The Impossible in which she also plays a mom. Adele, Best Original Song, “Skyfall” From Skyfall She’s already won Grammys, but new mom Adele will have to call a sitter so she can perform her original song, Skyfall, which is also nominated for Best Original Song. Ben Affleck, Best Picture, Argo Sure, Affleck was shockingly overlooked in a number of categories, but Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel’s dad will hit the red carpet in hopes of winning a best film for his movie Argo, which he directed and produced. Philip Seymour Hoffman, Best Actor in a Supporting Role, The Master No stranger to award shows, the seasoned actor will have his three kids, Cooper, Tallulah, and Willa, cheering him on for his supporting actor role in The Master. Sally Field, Best Actress in a Supporting Role, Lincoln Sally’s boys Peter, Eli, and Sam may be all grown up, but they probably still think it’s cool that their mom is nominated for an Oscar for Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln. Come on, it’s an Oscar! Daniel Day-Lewis, Best Actor in a Leading Role, Lincoln This is Day-Lewis’ fifth nomination for an Academy Award. He’s already won two for There Will Be Blood and My Left Foot. Not too shabby for the father of three!
