Lucy Hale On Recording Her Country Album: “It’s Absolutely Terrifying,” She Says
With all the drama going on on Pretty Little Liars recently — Ezria break up, anyone? — it’s hard to believe that Lucy Hale (Aria Montgomery) has time for anything other than the massively successful show. Well, don’t underestimate Lucy! Not only is the 23-year-old actress starring in one of the most popular shows, like, ever, she’s also in the process of recording a country album — and is spilling serious details to Access Hollywood and NYLON.
“It's absolutely terrifying,” Lucy tells NYLON of recording her debut album. “You only get one album. You only get one single. You get one shot in music. But I have a million different dreams. Why can't I go out and try to achieve them all? Who are you to say I can't?”
So, what can we expect from Luce’s debut record? According to the Tennessee-born and bred star, her music will be all about going back to her country roots. “Country music to me is the best music in the world,” she tells Access Hollywood. “It’s storytelling and it means something and it can make you feel any emotion in the world and it’s just where my heart is.”
Still, Lucy is nervous that the close-knit country music community isn’t going to accept her! (Are you crazy, Luce? They’re gonna love you!) “Once you get in the circle of country music, you’re in and they will stay with you for life,” she explains. “It’s just going over the hurdle of getting in there because they don’t just let anyone in. Look at the careers. You don’t make one album. You make 25 albums. They’re just behind your back always.”
We’ve got your back too, Lucy — and we can’t wait to hear what you have in store for us!
