Keira Knightley Loves Royal Baby, Disses Monarchy, Doesn’t “Get” Her Fiance
Keira Knightley admits she doesn't listen to a lot of music, but she's engaged to a musician — James Righton of the band Klaxons. As she told Marie Claire magazine in a new cover story (via Just Jared), "I get wonderful perspective by being with someone who is less like me than more like me. The way he thinks is something I don’t get. We come at things from totally different angles.”
She said they are not big-wedding types, and she doesn't need to "have all of that." However, the British actress said she’s happy about Kate Middleton's and Prince William's bundle of joy ... even if she's not sure why there’s a royal family at all. “I’m over the moon about the royal baby. But I really can’t mount an argument in favor of monarchy. Is that treason? Do I have to turn in my passport?”
What is the purpose of the monarchy? Why are those inherited traditions still going on? Do they exist just so we can live out prince and princess fairy tale fantasies?
