Brandi Glanville on Realizing Eddie Cibrian Was Cheating on Her: “He Convinced Me I Was Just Being Paranoid”
Fans of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills are well aware that Brandi Glanville’s ex-husband, Eddie Cibrian, left her for singer LeAnn Rimes back in 2009. But what’s less clear is when — and how — Brandi knew her husband was stepping out on her. In her new book, Drinking & Tweetingand Other Brandi Blunders, the former model reveals in detail the moment she realized Eddie and LeAnn were sleeping together. During an awkward double date with LeAnn and then-husband Dean Sheremet, Brandi endured what she calls the singer’s “inappropriate” interactions with Eddie filled with whispers, giggles and reaches across the dinner table.
“And this woman, whom I had just met, spent more time flirting with my husband than acknowledging her own,” she wrote.
As the night went on, Brandi said it dawned on her that the two were much more than just friends. At one point, LeAnn pulled Eddie onstage for a karaoke rendition of Sonny & Cher’s “I Got You Babe,” which left Brandi fuming.
“I felt like I was in the twilight zone,” she wrote. “ I looked at Eddie’s smiling face on that stupid, low-rent stage and leaned over to Dean and said, ‘You know they’re f**king, right?’”
The “f**king last straw” for Brandi was when she caught LeAnn and Eddie having an intimate moment where the singer smeared frosting on her chest and playfully asked Eddie if he wanted to lick it off of her chest.
After overhearing the interaction, Brandi confronted them and said, “’What the f**k do you two have going on? Do you two have something you’d like to tell me?’ LeAnn laughed through her oversized dentures before purring. ‘Oh, honey, you’re just being silly.’”
Eddie tried to calm down his then-wife, insisting that she was making things up. “He convinced me I was just being paranoid,” Brandi wrote.
Sadly, the affair turned out to be very much true, and Brandi Glanville and Eddie Cibrian divorced in 2010 after two children together and nine years of marriage.
