Grey’s Anatomy Season 9: 3 Reasons the ER Should Be Saved

The Grey's Anatomy cast are a few episodes ahead of viewers, but according to Sarah Drew (April Kepner) the fate of Seattle Grace-Mercy West's ER is still up in the air.

We're definitely pulling for the writers to save the ER. Even discounting in-universe logic — like "it helps save people's lives!" — we think it's needed from an entertainment standpoint. Here's why:

1. Fun cases. How else are we going to get motorcycle gangs, stipper poll accidents, and other such delightful cases without an ER?

2. What else will April do? She's a trauma surgeon! And while once upon a time we didn't much care what happened to April, we've come to love her. Don't take away her job, please.

3. The docs need a victory. This season started off with a death, and despite some triumphs along the way (and one surprising pregnancy), it's been pretty bleak. We'd love to see everyone get a big win.

Do you agree?

Catch the next new episode of Grey’s Anatomy on Thursday, February 7, 2013, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
