The Walking Dead Season 3 Spoilers: “Daryl Is Caught in the Middle and Has to Make Choices”
Have you had a chance to watch the first two minutes from The Walking DeadSeason 3, Episode 9, "The Suicide King"? The episode airs in full this Sunday, February 10, marking the start of the second half of the season.
The first two minutes are all about the Woodbury fight club pit, with The Governor (David Morrissey) forcing Merle (Michael Rooker) and Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) to "fight to the death." Merle starts beating on his brother to prove his loyalty to Woodbury. But it's not too much of a spoiler to say both men get out of there alive. There's way too much potential for both of these characters in the Team Prison vs. Team Woodbury war.
Soon-to-be-exiting Walking Dead showrunner Glen Mazzara talked to Entertainment Weekly about the rest of Season 3, including teasers on The Dixon Bros:
"Daryl has spent the last year with Rick and this group, and he has worked very hard to wrestle his past demons and to become a very, very valuable member of Rick’s band. So much so that we saw him step up as the number two after Lori’s death. He’s really the one who takes leadership of the group when Rick is lost in the tombs and the boiler room after Lori’s death. Now he’ll have to make choices after discovering that his brother is alive and his brother is on the opposing side. Daryl is caught in the middle and has to make choices. Can he try to bring everyone together, or does he pick a side, or does he have to go up against Rick in some way? I think it’s a very interesting arc. Norman Reedus is fantastic to work with and I think he’s got some pretty amazing work in the back half of the season."
What do you want to se, for Daryl and Merle? Work together? Stay on Team Prison? Go their separate ways? Fight each other? Should Glenn kicks Merle's butt for how Merle treated him in Woodbury? Should Merle fight with Rick and the gang for how they left him in Atlanta?
