How Did American Idol 2013 Do in the Ratings For Wednesday’s Hollywood Week Launch?
When it comes to American Idol ratings, it’s all about the cushion. Of course, FOX would love to have the ratings they did six seasons ago, but with a seemingly built-in lead above the others, the dip they take in the ratings from week to week doesn’t seem to do much damage.
The 18-49 age group is the sweet spot when it comes to advertisers. Last Wednesday, American Idol 2013 had a 5.4 rating among adults 18-49, while last night’s show took a slight dip with a 4.6 for that same age group. The ratings were down 16% from last week, and down 25% from last year’s 6.1 rating when Hollywood Week began.
FOX led the evening with 14.2 million viewers and an overall 8.4 rating/13 share in households. CBS came in second with 10 million viewers and a 6.5 rating/10 share. ABC was third with 6.9 million viewers and a 4.5 rating/7 share.
Check back tomorrow to see how the hit show does in the ratings for its Thursday night show of Hollywood Week, with the Top 20 girls performing in Tinsel Town.
