Justin Bieber’s Mom: Selena Gomez Is a “Sweetheart,” I Hope He Learns From My Mistakes
Pattie Mallette said she and her son, Justin Bieber, are both nervous for his Saturday Night Live performance tomorrow night. He's been a musical guest before, but now he's also the host. "He's been rehearsing all week and practicing and helping to write skits," Pattie told The Today Show on Thursday, February 7. "He's excited,"
On Today, Pattie was also asked about Justin's off-and-on-girlfriend, Selena Gomez. We've read rumors that Pattie wants to keep Selena in Justin's life because she's a good influence, and Today asked Pattie if she’s hoping Justin and Selena stay together.
"You know, I just try and support whatever he's wanting, and I think she's a sweetheart, and whatever they decide is great," Pattie said.
Justin is now 18 — how is it being a mom now that he's getting older and more independent? “It's tough letting go and letting our kids make the mistakes that they need to make," Pattie said. "And I just have to trust that he's made good decisions in the past and hopefully he's learned from some of my mistakes."
Justin is a legal adult, but he's still a teen. If you were his mom, would you try to step in more to make sure he stays out of trouble, or let him figure things out on his own? And will you watch Justin on SNL tomorrow?
