Beyonce: Baby Blue Ivy Is “My Best Friend,” We Were Talking During Labor
No matter what she says or does, some people will still believe that Beyonce did not actually get pregnant or give birth to Blue Ivy. For everyone else, she shares more details on that labor in the March 2013 issue of Vogue.
“I felt very maternal around eight months. And I thought I couldn’t become any more until I saw the baby. … But it happened during my labor because I had a very strong connection with my child. I felt like when I was having contractions, I envisioned my child pushing through a very heavy door. And I imagined this tiny infant doing all the work, so I couldn’t think about my own pain. … We were talking. I know it sounds crazy, but I felt a communication.”
Beyonce also calls her 1-year-old daughter “my road dog, my homey, my best friend,” and she wants the little girl to have as normal a life as possible. “It’s very important to me that my daughter is able to experience life and run through the sprinklers and have slumber parties and trust and live and do all the things that any child should be able to do. School visits and lemonade stands and all that stuff. It’s very important for me.” She’ll be normal, just maybe with special diamond Barbie dolls.
Anyway, it's good to hear Bey had such a strong connection with Blue Ivy early on. Hopefully that bond stays strong for the duration of their lifetimes. Maybe a Blue/Bey duet in, say, 20 years?
