Breaking the Rules: Which Stars Defied CBS’s Wardrobe Memo at the 2013 Grammys?

When CBS released that memo full of awkward bans, they didn't really think people would follow it, right? Well, we didn't either.

The only thing surprising about Rihanna's rocking red dress was that it wasn't as revealing as we had expected. But that doesn't mean it followed the rules.

According to Deadline, who released the original memo, Kat Von D and Deadmau5's Joel Zimmerman didn't care about the ban.

His hat read "Your S--- Bums Me Out," but quickly covered the letter "S." The memo, if you don't remember, stated that obscenity on wardrobe was not allowed.

"It was kind of forced... by me," Kat told E! about her fiance's hat.

Also forbid? "Bare flesh under curves of the buttocks", "bare sides or under curvature of the breasts" or exposed "puffy bare skin" around genitals. Katy Perry however, showed quite a bit of the curvature of her breasts.

Jennifer Lopez's Angelina Jolie leg was another one that was close to the line, but she defended herself.

"They didn't say anything about leg!" she told Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet. ”Did you read this memo?! It mentioned things that I don’t say around my house or my children. It’s crazy.”

Other possible offenders included Kelly Rowland who had see-through sections of her gorgeous black gown; Ashanti, who had some boobage going on and possiblyan underwear sighting; Skylar Grey who showed off her tattoo along with her side boob; and Rihanna, who's see-through dress did need a bra.
