Kenya Moore Was “Disappointed” That None of Her Cast Mates Reached Out to Her After Cancer Scare
Kenya Moore hasn’t had the easiest time playing nice with her Real Housewives of Atlanta castmates, but the beauty queen took a break from the drama this week to focus on some intensely personal issues. Kenya headed to her doctor for a biopsy after the doc spotted some suspicious lumps in her breasts, and she spent much of the episode worrying that the lumps could be cancerous.
Thankfully, the lumps were benign and Kenya was able to share her experience on-camera after some encouragement from her doctor. In her BravoTV.com blog, Kenya says of her doc, “I shared with her my trepidation about the process being filmed and being in such a vulnerable position on TV in front of millions. She encouraged me to be brave, noting that if we could save just one life at the end of the day, it would be reward enough. It was clear then that I didn’t have a choice.”
Ultimately, just the idea that she could have cancer forced Kenya to put things in perspective, realizing that the petty RHoA drama was nothing to worry about in the grand scheme of things. “At the end of the day a person who calls you unspeakable names to hurt you, someone who intentionally maligns you out of spite; a man who tries to tear you down or break you to gain negative fame or attention for himself; or my incessant worrying about my future matters not if I don’t have a life to live at all,” she writes.
However, Kenya did have a bone to pick with her castmates. “I was disappointed when none of my castmates reached out to me after learning of my ordeal when many viewers did,” she reveals. “Whether or not I am your favorite or least favorite person, the bond that we all have is that we are women first.”
We don’t usually agree with Kenya (sorry, girl), but she’s totally right in this case. It would have been thoughtful of her co-stars to reach out to her no matter where they stand personally. Are you surprised that no one on RHoA supported Kenya during her difficult time? Share your thoughts below!
