Pretty Little Liars

Pretty Little Liars Speculation: What Happened to Jason?

Pretty Little Liars is constantly throwing us curveballs, but Jason's (Drew Van Acker) disappearance at the end of Season 3, Episode 19: “What Becomes of the Broken-Hearted” was an especially shocking moment.

What happened to him? How — and why — did a severely injured man just up and walk away? The answer to that question might be key to understanding what's going on with his character.

We have a couple of theories about what might have happened.

1. The "A" team kidnapped him. If Jason is right that the "A" team is after him because of something involving the N.A.T. club, then it's possibly they broke into the hospital and kidnapped him. That would mean bad things for poor Jason.

2. He ran away — out of fear. If Jason really is an innocent bystander who's being hunted down, it's possible he decided the hospital wasn't safe, and took his life into his own hands by bolting. If this is the case, we'd expect him to be MIA for awhile.

3. He ran away — to investigate. In the same vein, maybe Jason decided he has some investigating to do, and wanted to get started, ASAP.

4. He ran away — because he's part of the "A" team. On the other hand, if he is evil, maybe Jason left the hospital (with or without help) to go join his "A" team compatriots. We hope not, because we'd prefer Jason to be a good guy. But we do know the "A" team isn't above hurting their own to make a story convincing (for example, Toby [Keegan Allen] falling from the scaffolding).
