What Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Could Learn From Beyoncé and Jay-Z
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West seem to handling their highly-publicized pregnancy well, but that’s nothing compared to what's ahead: an infant that’s also a paparazzi magnet!
Well, we're guessing. But if there's anyone in the world who really does know what Kim and Kanye will soon be going through, it’s their close friends Beyoncé and Jay-Z. It seems like KimYe already took one page out of Bey and Jay’s handbook—Kanye’s spontaneous onstage reveal of Kim’s pregnancy rivaled Beyonce’s amazing baby bump surprise at the 2011 VMAs.
Now that their daughter Blue Ivy is a little over a year old, here are a few more things we think Kim and Kanye could learn from their pals and fellow celebrity parents.
Talk to your baby Are you listening, Kimmy? Bey has some labor tips for you, and it involves some intense communication between you and this wee one. We'll take her word for it.
Take a break Jay-Z released one song right after Blue was born, but then there was a bit of a dry spell, because he just wanted to hang out with his little girl! Jay and Kanye are similarly driven, so we hope Kanye is similarly cool with taking time out of the studio to enjoy time with his baby. Nothing is too good for your baby! Baby Blue was living in the lap of luxury from day one. She slept in a $20,000 crib, ate in a $15,000 high chair, and may be riding on a golden rocking horse as we speak. This may not be the most normal parenting tip KimYe could get, but you know they’d love a diamond-encrusted Barbie doll.
You can’t patent a baby name There is no word yet on what Kim and Kanye are thinking of naming their little one, but they shouldn’t get their hopes up about getting exclusive rights to it! Beyonce and Jay-Z tried to trademark Blue Ivy, and were denied by a judge. That’s good to know, because Kardashians are known for their branding.
You’re never too young to travel Kim and Kanye have been doing some stylish globe-trotting while she’s expecting, and Blue Ivy is proof that having a baby doesn’t mean giving up your jet-setting ways! Blue was in Paris, the Mediterranean, and about 5000 tropical locales during her first year of life, so Kim and Kanye don’t need to worry about slowing down.
It’s always take your child to work day In a recent Vogue interview, Beyonce’s pal Gwyneth Paltrow told a sweet story about watching the new mom holding Blue in the recording studio, which is too cute for words. The tot also has a swanky playroom at the Barclays Center so she can hang out while Dad, who is part owner of the Brooklyn Nets, stops by the arena. We love it!
