Gerard Butler Sues Movie’s Producers For $5.1 Million
Things are getting "ugly" between Gerard Butler and his potential employers.
The star of such films as The Ugly Truth is suing the producers of the never-made film Motor City for $5.1 million, citing breach of contract and breach of implied contract, according to The Wrap.
Gerard had been attached to revenge thriller Motor City when the film fell apart last summer.
He had a "pay-or-play" contract for the film, meaning he was guaranteed his $4 million salary and an additional $2 million in deferred compensation, regardless of whether the movie was made.
Gerard — whose next film, Olympus Has Fallen, opens in March — also says that his attachment to the movie caused him to miss out on other roles.
Meanwhile, the producers maintain that "there is no written agreement between the parties."
Motor City? More like Awkward City!
