Real Life Walking Dead? TV Station Sends Out Emergency Alert About Zombie Apocalypse

The zombie apocalypse is underway, and it’s beginning in Montana. At least, that’s what some mischievous hackers wanted Great Falls, Mont., residents to believe.

The pranksters interrupted The Steve Wilkos Show on Monday, February 11, with an ominous emergency alert.

As a blue, scrolling message listed the names of affected counties — during the pivotal “Teen Cheaters Take Lie Detectors” segment of the show — a solemn voice read the following announcement:

“Civil authorities in your area have reported that the bodies of the dead are rising from their graves and attacking the living. Follow the messages on screen that will be updated as information becomes available. Do not attempt to approach or apprehends these bodies as the are considered extremely dangerous.”

Almost immediately, KRTV/CW released a statement, assuring viewers, “This message did not originate from KRTV, and there is no emergency. Our engineers are investigating to determine what happened and if it affected other media outlets.”

And, as of now, no one has taken responsibility for the hacking, and the hooligans have yet to be identified. Those dang whippersnappers!
