Daniel Radcliffe Names Harry Potter Films He WON’T Watch
You may enjoy the Harry Potter film series, but that doesn’t mean Harry Potter does. Daniel Radcliffe was just a child when he was cast as the boy wizard, and he doesn’t really enjoy watching his efforts on screen.
Dan is on the March 2013 cover of Out magazine, and he listed (via Just Jared) the films he just can’t watch: "I certainly wouldn’t watch number three, I wouldn’t watch the first two, I wouldn’t watch four. I might watch five. I definitely wouldn’t watch six."
So, to recap, that’s a certainly not to Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban; a no to Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire; a definitely not to Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and a maybe for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
No word on the final two-part films. That’s a lot of not-gonna-watch it reactions! Why wouldn’t he watch Azkaban, though? Didn’t he used to praise that one for its unique style, by director Alfonso Cuaron? Reconsider, Dan — you’re not that bad in them!
Anyway, Dan is now playing Allen Ginsberg in Kill Your Darlings, and his new film frustration is being asked what it’s like to play a character who is gay: “You never see a gay actor getting asked what it’s like to play straight — to my knowledge, at least, there is no difference in how heterosexual and homosexual people fall in love.”
Hopefully he’ll be proud enough of his work in that film to still want to watch it a few years from now. In other Potter news, Rupert Grint just landed himself a lead role in a new CBS TV series...
