Melrose Place’s Amy Locane to Serve 3 Years in Prison For Deadly Crash
This is actually good news for former Melrose Place star Amy Locane-Bovenizer. Not so much for the family of the woman killed.
The actress was convicted of vehicular manslaughter last November, from an incident that took place in New Jersey in 2010. Amy hit another car with her SUV, killing a 60-year-old woman, Helene Seeman, and injuring the woman's husband. Amy was driving with a blood-alcohol level of nearly three times the legal limit. She faced five to 10 years in prison, along with an additional three to five years in prison for the injuries sustained by the surviving passenger.
However, on February 14, Amy was sentenced to only three years in prison. According to Radar Online, the judge lowered the sentence, saying 10 years would present an extra hardship on Amy's two children, one of whom is mentally disabled. According to the report, Seeman's widower yelled, "What a travesty!" before angrily leaving the courtroom.
Does the sentence sound fair to you, given the circumstances?
