Molly Sims Says Her “Vampire” Baby Made Her Give Up on Breastfeeding
Imagine this, moms: What if your child was born with a tooth? And imagine what it would feel like when said child breastfeed? OUCH! Model Molly Sims went through this exact thing with her son Brooks, who was born in June 2012. Apparently, the Anderson Live co-host was having difficulties breastfeeding because it was so painful and asked a nurse if it was possible if her sweet suckling baby boy might have a tooth. Sadly, her reasonable question was blown off because, well, she’s just a model and doesn’t she know that babies aren’t born with teeth? But it turns out there is such a thing as natal teeth (teeth that erupt before birth), however they are quite rare. The stats are like 1 in 2000, and Brooks is that one. Molly’s poor breasts!
“He was literally like a vampire on me for three months,” Molly told Anderson Cooper. While they make that whole vampire-sucking thing look so good on True Blood, it would definitely hurt like hell to have someone doing that to you in real life. So after trying a number of techniques to help nurse Brooks — everything from nipple guards to the SNS tube system — Molly switched over to formula. Brooks is now happily eating from the bottle.
