Walking Dead Season 3 Spoilers: Rick “Curveball” Coming in Potential Best Episode of Series
Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) keeps seeing stuff, but a "very special episode" of The Walking Dead Season 3 is coming, and showrunner Glen Mazzara said it's tied to the question of what Rick will do to get mentally well.
"There's an episode that's coming up that deals with Rick trying to hold on to his sanity, and I really think it's going to be a fan favorite for the entire series," Mazzara told TV Guide. "It's a very special episode. It's very different, and it's the curveball. Sometimes fans like curveballs, sometimes they don't, but it's a pretty exciting episode, so that question gets dealt with head on."
A potential fan favorite episode with a potentially controversial curveball! We must have this now.
Couple ideas: A while back, comic book guru/exec producer Robert Kirkman said Episode 12 would be "something special" and we're thinking this may be another reference to the March 3 episode. Maybe not, but maybe so. And the "curveball"? We've read that Morgan, the guy who saved Rick's life back on Season 1, is returning this season, reportedly on Episode 12. With Rick being in his mental haze we've been wondering if maybe Morgan would turn out to be a vision. It's possible Morgan will return and have some kind of conversation with Rick that will turn out to be a Sixth Sense kind of thing where he's not really alive. That's total speculation, though, and maybe it’s not enough of a curveball to count. Nothing can happen to Rick, though, right? He and The Governor (David Morrissey) still have to have their meeting (which was teased in promos) and Rick seems to be returning for Season 4, so it’s not like the curveball would be “Rick is going to die.” It has to be something else, unless Rick gets to pull the Sixth Sense thing and play Bruce Willis’s role for the rest of the series. Kidding. That would suck.
