Revenge Season 2: How Will Amanda Clarke’s Death Affect Emily Thorne?

We’re still reeling from the shocking death of Fauxmanda Clarke in Revenge Season 2, Episode 14, “Sacrifice.” And though Amanda was a loving mother and wife to Baby Carl David and Jack Porter, no one cared for her more than Emily Thorne.

The two did trade identities and lives, after all. Back when they were in juvy together, Ems and Mandy decided that they were sisters (from another mister), and swapped lives to help further Emily’s mission of retribution against those who framed and murdered her father.

Amanda literally gave up everything to help Emily in last night’s episode. So will Ems be too lost in grief to finish her task? Hardly.

The closing monologue from Ms. Thorne was indicative of the hell that’s about to be unleashed on the Graysons and anyone else involved.

“Sacrifice demands the surrender of things we cherish above all else,” she said. “Only out of the agony of those losses can a new resolution be born. An undying devotion to a cause greater than one’s self. And a moral duty to see a journey through to its absolute completion.”

And in the promo for Episode 15, “Retribution,” Emily tells Nolan, “The Graysons are behind all of this and they’re going to pay.”

So Amanda’s death will only fuel Emily’s desire to destroy, thus putting this season back on track to the story we originally fell in love with. The focus returns to Emily’s vendetta against the Graysons, and once again Vicki is the main villain.

Sigh, memories.

Are you excited to see this shift in Emily’s mission? Or was Amanda’s death not worth it? Tell us below!
