Rob Kardashian and Rita Ora’s relationship breakdown took centerstage in this week's Kourtney and Kim Take Miami, and their relationship definitely didn’t end well. Recently, Rita even told reporters that, in a a game of “Shag, Marry, Shoot,” she would "definitely, definitely shoot Rob Kardashian." These two certainly have feelings for each other — they're just not exactly loving. If you blinked twice this past winter, you may have missed this rocky romance , and you may even be wondering who is Rita Ora, exactly?
Born in Kosovo on November 26, 1990, and raised in the UK from the age of one, Rita is a rising star in the pop world (both in England and across the pond) signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation record label.
From a young age she loved to sing, and she began her musical career contributing guest vocals to artists like Craig David and Tinchy Stryder. She made the rounds singing in bars all over London before she was discovered by a Roc Nation A&R representative in 2009. The same year, she appeared in music videos for Jay-Z’s “Young Forever” and Drake’s “Over” before officially signing to Roc Nation.
Her debut album, titled Ora, was released on August 27, 2012 and shot to the top of the UK Albums Chart. The first single from the record, “R.I.P.,” also reached no. 1 on the UK Singles Chart. Rita was a guest judge on the ninth season of The X Factor in the UK and was nominated for three awards at the 2012 MTV Europe Music Awards.
Rita’s style and music is often likened to Rihanna, and she’s flattered by the comparison.
“I admire Rihanna,” she told Complex in July. “She works her *ss off. She hasn’t had a break and she has given people hit after hit after hit. That work ethic and discipline is hardcore. That’s the kind of s**t that I want to do. That I will do.”
At the rate Rita’s career is going, we’re certain she can!
