Castle Season 5 Spoiler: Will Alexis Survive the Kidnapping? – Exclusive

On tonight’s episode of Castle Season 5, “Target,” tragedy hits close to home for Castle (Nathan Fillion) when his daughter Alexis (Molly Quinn) is kidnapped.

Wetpaint Entertainment recently caught up with Molly Quinn, and the 19-year-old actress admitted that even she doesn’t know how the harrowing story arc is going to play out. “I really have to tell you we shot a lot of footage, and I don't know how they're going to end it,” she said. “Even I'm on pins and needles.”

Wetpaint Entertainment: How do you feel about Monday's episode?

Molly Quinn: I'm so nervous. I'm so incredibly nervous. I always am. Well, I'm definitely not my harshest critic. That would be my family, but I am very nervous. I love the show, and I love what I do. And I really just want to make everyone proud. So I'm excited, and I'm nervous.

What can we say about the episode?

I have to go back to Season 3, when Alexis [was] showing behaviors that I was very nervous about. If you remember when she explodes at her dad over getting in her business about her violin teacher, all those types of things where she kind of comes in and gets upset that he cares. That he's a caring parent. How dare he? Every time it happens in an episode, I was like, “Oh, no.” I'm a real believer in karma, and I’m just thinking, “Alexis, this isn't going to turn out good. I mean, you're really confident in how smart you are and how capable you are in taking care of yourself, but things can turn around and bite you.” And I think that's kind of what had happened.

This season, she's certainly been rebellious. Is this a repercussion of something that she does that's thoughtless?

No, no, no. She's just in the wrong place at the wrong time, but I think all of these behaviors, it has made her confident, like any 19-, 20-year-old girl. She's going out on her own, and she doesn't need her parents anymore. But the thing is, it's good to have that check in and have someone who cares for you, but sometimes, even when you have those people, you put yourself in situations even they can't help you get out of. So that's really what's happened.

Can you talk at all about what kind of scenes you found most challenging or gratifying?

Alexis gets to a very desperate place. She gets very desperate, and one scene in particular, she just loses hope. It's gone. And I had never I'm getting chills just thinking about it experienced the bottom of the pit. You're not calling any more. You're not trying to climb out. You're just sitting. So that was very challenging, and I'm really looking forward to seeing how that turned out.

And have you seen Nathan's scenes at all because I know there's a promo where he's breaking down?

I've only seen the promo, and I remember coming to set and hearing people talk about it. It was almost whispers, like a legend. Like, “Nathan. Oh, man, he was so powerful, and he was just letting it out.” I can't wait. I cannot wait to see his best.

What do you think happens after something like this? Is it a wake-up call for Alexis to sort of calm down a little maybe?

Well, we don't know if Alexis shows in any other episodes.

Don't say that.

No. It's true. I don't even know. I mean, honestly, this whole #SaveAlexis hash tag, I'm kind of thinking that they're doing that to see how fans respond because if not enough of them want Alexis staying they might just cut her out. I really have to tell you we shot a lot of footage, and I don't know how they're going to end it. Even I'm on pins and needles.

Are you, Molly, without hope?

Molly's never without hope. Molly has her hands in a lot of pies, a finger in a lot of pies. So she's fine, but she is a little nervous, I'll say, for Alexis.
