Shia LaBeouf Quit Broadway Play Following Fight With Alec Baldwin

Some plays have more drama going on behind the scenes than in the actual play.

Shia LaBeouf announced he was quitting the Broadway play Orphans yesterday, and now he is shedding light on issues he'd been having with co-star Alec Baldwin.

Shia has posted a series of emails on Twitter that had been exchanged between himself, Alec, and actor Tom Sturridge, who's also in the play.

With the email subject header of "Apology," the 26-year-old Transformers star wrote to Alec and Tom to say that he's man enough to admit to having made mistakes.

"Alec, I'm sorry for my part of a disagreeable situation," Shia wrote in the email.

In his response, 54-year-old Alec admitted that he's had issues with actors in the past.

"I've been through this before. It's been a while," Alec wrote to Shia. "I don't have an unkind word to say about you. You have my word."

Meanwhile, Tom responded to Shia by confirming that Shia was right in predicting that he and Alec wouldn't get along.

"I'm too old for disagreeable situations," Tom wrote. "Alec is who he is. You are who you are. You two are incompatible."

"You tried to warn me," he continues. "You said you were a different breed. I didn't get it."

Meanwhile, Shia wrote on Twitter on the same day, "The theater belongs not to the great but to the brash." Sounds like that's another hint at the tension between these two.

The play, which would have marked Shia's Broadway debut, will begin previews on March 19. The show has yet to announce his replacement.

We admire Shia for providing the public with info as to what happened, although now we're even more curious to find out what exactly went down!
