American Idol 2013: Season 12 Contestants Roundup – Our Favorites! (UPDATE!)
Of the thousands who auditioned for American Idol 2013, only 20 guys and 15 girls remain to battle it out in Vegas Week for a chance to move on to the voting rounds. Five ladies were cut yesterday and five guys will go home during the second Vegas 'sudden death' round tonight. Who are your favorite remaining contestants from the Top 40? We’ll tell you ours, if you tell us yours!
American Idol 2013 Top 15 Girls:
Our current favorite female performer is absolutely, without a doubt, Angela Miller. So far she has been consistently fabulous throughout the competition, and her incredible performance in the last night of the Hollywood Rounds left us as nearly speechless as the judges. We love her so much, she’s actually our very early American Idol prediction for the Season 12 winner!
Our second runner-up currently for favorite female contestant goes to country singer Janelle Arthur. Of all the country performers this season on American Idol 2013, we think she currently has the most potential. Plus it seems the judges really might be favoring the idea of trying to promote another Carrie Underwood type country superstar as the winner this year. Of course, there is that other terrific country performer, Rachel Hale, who might just sneak up and grab the crown from Janelle in the end.
American Idol 2013 Top 20 Guys:
Among the guys this season there is plenty of talent, but oddly not a lot of male performers who truly stand out like some of the ladies do. Burnell Taylor, Curtis Finch, Jr. and Vincent “Vince” Powell are all great singers, but none of them have truly given one of those ‘ultimate’ wow moments yet. Even so, we’d have to give a slight edge among the three to Curtis Finch, Jr. at this point simply due to his spectacular vocal ability.
Personally, if we could give the American Idol Season 12 winner crown to any of the guys right now, we’d probably hand it over to the very quirky, and absolutely adorable, Charlie Askew. He may not have the “it” factor, or the best voice in the competition, but he is so delightful to watch, who cares?
While it might be hard to imagine someone who can barely speak making it all the way to the American Idol 2013 finals, we also can’t help but cheer on the astounding Lazaro Arbos. His severe stutter may make it extremely hard to understand what he says, but there is nothing more clearly beautiful than the way he sings.
