Jessica Sanchez Glee Update: She’s Coming “Very, Very Soon”!
Jessica Sanchez’s role on Glee has been in the works for quite some time. Rumors first flew way back in June of 2012 that the Season 11 American Idol runner-up was in talks to appear on the show.
The story ran cold until October, when show creator Ryan Murphy officially confirmed the casting on Twitter. Well, it’s now almost March 2013, and still no sign of Jessica. So what gives? Did her much-hyped Glee appearance end up falling through?
Worry not, Jessica fans. Your girl most certainly will be making her Glee debut — and Jessica herself is promising that it will happen “very, very soon.”
“Yes, I met with Ryan Murphy and we’re talking about some episodes,” Jessica tells the Manila Times. “That’s happening very, very soon. I’m very excited. I’ve never acted before but it seems like it’s so fun to do. So I’m like, ‘Let’s do this!’ You only live life once.”
Glee is currently filming scenes for Episodes 16 and 17, so Jessica’s debut episode likely won’t happen until after that. The show had better hurry up. There are only about 22 episodes in a season!
So what exactly can we expect to see from the pint-sized vocal powerhouse when she does show up on Glee? Nothing is confirmed just yet, though the fact that Jessica is just 17 means she’ll most likely be popping up at McKinley high school — not with all the college students in NYC.
“I haven’t read the script yet but anything would be fun to play. I always find a way to relate to high school kids and everything, so I’m very excited for that and I guess I’m just a regular teenage girl with my dreams and I just jump in,” she says.
Earlier rumors had suggested that Jessica might be a love interest for Finn (Cory Monteith). But given the actor’s huge age difference, and the fact that Glee seems to have chosen to focus on the Finn-Emma kiss drama instead of bringing on a new love interest, we’d say that’s probably not going to happen.
Which brings up the question — which guy do you think should end up being her love interest?
