Last week on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Porsha Stewart and her hubby discussed their plans for entering the world of parenthood. As it turns out, they're not exactly on the same page, though. Porsha is eager to continue her charity work, which would mean the family would need to hire a nanny, but Kordell wants wifey to stay home with the kid.
While there's no doubt that the couple can afford a nanny, Kordell is more concerned with keeping to traditional customs. Namely, mom raises the kids herself. To test if Porsha is ready, he challenges her to spend a week taking care of her niece with absolutely no help from anyone else.
For the record, Kordell, most stay-at-home moms do get plenty of help from dads. Or, if dad isn't around, there are aunties and grandmas and friends who are happy to lend a hand. Making Porsha handle things alone is both unrealistic and kinda ridiculous.
What's more, we don't think there's anything wrong with hiring a nanny so that mom can still do some of the things she loves. Hey, if you can afford it, why not? Maybe Porsha doesn't need a full-time babysitter, but some help for a few days a week would be a fair compromise.
