Oscars 2013: Jennifer Lawrence Wins Best Actress Oscar, Falls Down Accepting It

2012 was indeed Jennifer Lawrence's year! The actress just snagged the 2013 Oscar for Best Actress for her realistic portrayal of unstable 20-something, Tiffany in Silver Linings Playbook. Jennifer can add this momentous win to the pile of awards she's already taken home from the Golden Globes, Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, Screen Actors Guild Awards, Independent Spirit Awards, and Satellite Awards.

This was the second Academy Award nomination (she was previously nominated for Winter's Bone) and the first win for the 22-year-old star. Her competition was no joke either! Jennifer was up against actresses with serious acting chops: Naomi Watts for The Impossible, Jessica Chastain for Zero Dark Thirty, Emmanuelle Riva for Amour, and 9-year-old Quvenzhané Wallis for Beasts of the Southern Wild.

Jennifer was so nervous and excited that she tripped and fell while walking up to accept her speech! Or perhaps it was because she didn't get a chance to eat before the three-hour long show? She got through it all gracefully and thenbreathlessly thanked co-star Bradley Cooper. She also gave a sweet shout-out to her fellow actresses, "This is nuts! THank you to the Academy and thank you to the women this year. You were so magnificent and inspiring and not just those of you in my category. And it's been so amazing getting to know you and you've been so nice and you've made this experience unforgettable."
