5 Reasons Why Jessica Sanchez Will Be Awesome on Glee
Jessica Sanchez is making American Idol history with her forthcoming multi-episode arc on Glee. She’ll be the first Idol contestant to ever appear on the hit show. While we don’t yet know what kind of characterthe Season 11 runner-up will portray on Season 4 of the FOX series, here are five reasons why we think she’ll be great on Glee:
She’s following in her own idols’ footsteps Jessica’s said before that she’d love to see her career go in the direction of Rihanna and Beyonce, two singers who just so happen to have done their own little dabbling in the acting biz. Coincidence? We think not.
She can nail cover songs American Idol and Glee have a major common thread in that they both cover renditions of popular music, so we know Jessica’s totally equipped for that. If nothing else, Idol totally prepped Jessica for taking on just about any song and make it her own.
She’s not camera shy She’s only a teenager, but Jessica Sanchez is already such a natural with the spotlight. Glee might be her first real scripted acting gig — apart from Season 11’s Idol Ford commercial, that is — but she’s positively made for the cameras.
She’s good at sharing the stage We’ve seen how well Jessica can share the stage with the best of ‘em, yet still shine on her own. See her duet with Jennifer Holliday on the finale, for instance. We have little doubt that she’ll step right into the thick of it with the talented Glee cast and hold her own on group numbers.
It’s a chance to show us a new side of her Much as we love Jessica Sanchez, we can’t wait to see what she can do outside of the AmericanIdol scenario. We’re sure she’s got something special up her sleeve, and with Glee she’ll get a chance to let loose while playing a fictional character. No, we don’t think she’ll go off the deep end and become an axe murderer on-screen, but we do think she could volley some snark or sass that we haven’t quite seen from her yet (perhaps with some help from alter ego BB Chez). We can even see her as the romantic interest of a New Directions dude like the geeky Artie, bad boy Puck, or the dreadlocked Joe.
