Anne Hathaway at 2013 Oscars: People’s Harsh Words “Get to Me”

Winning award after award isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Anne Hathaway won Best Supporting Actress for her role in Les Miserables at the 2013 Oscars over the weekend, and she admitted backstage that people's criticism of her awards acceptance speeches recently have been tough.

"It does get to me," Anne says of the backlash. "But you have to remember in life that there's a positive to every negative and a negative to every positive."

"The miracle of the universe is that, as far as they know, there's 51 percent matter versus 49 percent anti-matter things tip in the scale of the positive," she says. "So that is what I focus on."

The star has been criticized for seeming phony or being over-the-top in her enthusiasm during the speeches, but she says that's just who she is.

"I live my life with love," Anne explains. "I live my life with compassion. I live my life hoping the best for absolutely everyone, no matter how they feel about me. And when you live that way, it's amazing how beautiful every day can be."

Congrats, Anne! Don't let the haters get you down!
