Each season on The Voice, the coaches pick special celebrity guests to mentor their contestants during the intense battle rounds. We’re pumped for these guest stars, as it’s always exciting to have more celebs on the show doling out music advice.
So, who will be the mentors for Season 4? We’ve got two brand new coaches this time around whose mentors are sure to bring fresh perspective to the contestants.
You may have expected new coach Shakira to choose a fellow Latin superstar for her mentor, but think again! She’s picked rocker Joel Madden of Good Charlotte. A curious choice for sure, but we’re sure he’ll bring a certain flair to Team Shak.
As for fellow newbie Usher, he’s taken a more predictable route, choosing superstar producer Pharrell Williams as a mentor. Pharrell’s impressive resume includes collaborating with legendary artists from Kanye West to Missy Elliott.
So how about the original coaches? Who did they pick?
Maroon 5 heartthrob Adam Levine took a country approach in choosing Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum to join his team. “Maroon 5 and I recorded a song with her for our last studio album and we had a great time collaborating in the studio,” Adam told Access Hollywood.
Though you may have expected Hillary to be part of Blake’s team, Hillary teased, “I’m sure [we’ll have] way more fun than Blake’s team.”
So who is Blake’s mentor going to be? Why, none other than the Grammy Award-winning country artist Sheryl Crow! Sheryl and Blake have been good friends for several years, so we’ll excited to see how they interact on the show together.
