Castle Season 5: Will Rick Tell Martha About His Father?
CastleSeason 5, Episode 16: “Hunt” aired on Monday Feb. 25, and it wasn’t without a great culmination of action, double-crossing, and Caskett moments.
In case you live under a rock or missed the episode, here’s how it went down: Rick went rogue and traveled to Paris to retrieve Alexis from seemingly international kidnappers. When he gets to France, Rick finds himself in some hot water, but he is rescued by a man named “Jackson Hunt,” who is actually his father and an intelligence asset (aka CIA spy!). A former Russian KGB agent has a vendetta against Hunt and kidnapped Alexis as leverage.
We also learn that Hunt has been following his son for years and even gave Castle the book that would inspire him to become a novelist.
After executing Hunt’s plan to get Alexis back, Rick and Alexis return to U.S. with Beckett and Martha showering the two with hugs and kisses. As the show winds down, Castle opens a mysterious package sent to him and it’s a copy of the book Hunt gave to Rick as a child. Castle then looks at his mother and says, “Mom, there’s something I want to tell you.” Before we can hear what he says, the episode ends.
We don’t know what Rick says to his mother — it could be that he was rescued by an awesome spy, had the biggest adventure of his life, or met his father. While we know that he’s not supposed to divulge any of the events in Paris, we wondered: do you think Rick will tell Martha he met his father?
