The Lying Game

Five Reasons Why You Should Watch The Lying Game

Don’t know anything about ABC Family’s newest series from Pretty Little Liars author Sarah Shepard? Here are the broad strokes:

The Lying Game follows Emma Becker (Alexandra Chando), a genuinely kind foster kid who learns she has an identical twin sister, Sutton Mercer (also Alexandra Chando). Lucky Sutton was adopted by wealthy parents, and she leads what appears to be an ideal life. After Sutton and Emma meet, Sutton talks her sis into pretending to be her for a few days while she attempts to track down their birth mother. The hitch? Sutton fails to return, and Emma has to decide whether to remain incognito or come clean about the switcheroo. Dilemma aside, her curiosity is piqued: Where’s her spoiled twin — and why were they separated in the first place?

If you aren’t already convinced that you should watch The Lying Game, here are five more reasons to tune!

1. It’s another ABC Family series from Sarah Shepard. ‘Nuff said.

2. There are hot guys aplenty. Mitch Ryan (Luke) is a onetime model, and Blair Redford, who plays Garrett, is downright dreamy. Bonus: Mitch has an Australian accent — and Blair can fake sexy accents to perfection.

3. The girls are adorable! Between Alexandra, Kirsten Prout (Char), Alice Greczyn (Mads), Sharon Pierre-Louis (Nisha), and Allie Gonino (Laurel), The Lying Game is populated with gals we’d love to hang out with in real life.

4. The show is full of twists. If Pretty Little Liars is any indication, The Lying Game won’t be short on mystery and suspense.

5. Alexandra Chando plays twins! This is a new TV theme, and it requires some serious talent. Alexandra’s competition? Nina Dobrev, who battles herself as doppelgangers Elena and Katherine on The Vampire Diaries, and Sarah Michelle Gellar, who plays identical twins Bridget and Siobhan on Ringer.
