See, Lady Gaga. Some people do make fun of Adele's weight. Joan Rivers, never the epitome of class, has no filter and no boundaries. She was on Tuesday's Late Show with David Letterman and did her usual schtick when recapping the Academy Awards.
She told Dave about meeting Adele at the Oscars.
Dave: "Oh yeah! Lovely woman."
Joan: “Oh yeah.” She put her arms out and puffed out her cheeks, mocking Adele’s weight. The crowd "oohed” in surprise.
Joan [to the audience]: “No, she's thin! Can we just talk to each other here?" [Turns back to Dave] "What is her song, 'Rolling in the Deep'? She should add ‘fried chicken.’"
The crowd "oohed" again, although some people laughed, and even Dave made a face.
Joan said Adele sang live at the Oscars and said her throat was hurting, so she wasn't sure she could swallow. Joan put her arms out again: "I said 'Oh, yeah, you can swallow!'"
Isn’t she a charmer? There's no point even calling her tasteless, since this is just how she is about everyone and everything. For example, watch more of her video to hear Dave complain about Joan’s story of tripping over her own boobs.
