Nathan Fillion Says He’d Do a Firefly Revival in a “Heartbeat”
Because we just can’t get enough Firefly! During the Castle100th episode celebration on Wednesday, February 27, HuffingtonPost reporters asked Nathan Fillion if he’d ever do a Firefly revival. Nathan’s answer? “In a heartbeat.”
It’s been years since Nathan’s epic show Firefly found its way to the cancelled shows cemetery, but it seems that fans just can’t get enough of the Joss Whedon sci-fi cult classic. At the episode wrap party, Nathan expressed how the show was his “first love” and posed the question, “If you get a chance to go back to your very first love, you'll do it, right?”
We know that we’ve been flogging this idea like a dead horse, but it’s Firefly! Even Nathan admitted that "We talk about it, we dream about it. I don't think you could find a cast member, a writer, a director, any of the crew who'd say, 'No, I'm out.'" Does that mean that a revival of the show is up for discussion? Unfortunately, no. Nathan gabbed that everyone was “busy” with other projects.
At least we’re treated to Firefly cast reunions in the form of panel discussions at conventions and Firefly alums guest starring on Castle. The latest guest star, Gina Torres, reunited with Nathan for the Castle episode “Reality Star Struck.”
Maybe someday soon, new episodes of Firefly will surface. Until then, we’re just going to have to watch the reruns on The Science Channel.
